Team Visa was started in 2002 to help athletes achieve their very best at the Athens 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Visa has supported sport across Europe for many years. We have been a Worldwide Partner of the Olympic Games since 1986 and the Paralympic Games since 2002. Building on our years of experience, the idea behind Team Visa was to offer mentoring to a small group of young athletes, nurturing them as they push themselves towards making their medal-winning dreams a reality.
Team Visa was such a success at the Athens 2004 Games that we carried on with the programme for the Torino 2006 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Now we’re looking forward to the future - Beijing 2008 and London 2012!
So far, Team Visa has worked with over 140 athletes in 14 different European countries.
